My C250 Turbodiesel, S reg. fairly regularly gives a "boing" noise from the rear suspension.
The springs seem undamaged and the noise appears as one of the spring coils moves over the edge of the spring seat of the wishbone.
Any suggestions as to why this happens & possible cures would be appreciated.
Many thanks, Guy.

If the spring is catching on anything then I would expect you to be able to see a witness mark where it rubs.
Is it possible that the spring has lost a small section or isn't seated correctly?

I have had springs break on two occasions, both near the seat, and on cursory inspection all looked ok, until the broken bit jumped out while driving. Try jacking up car so leg extends and examine spring carefully.

Apparently breaks in the springs happen mostly right at the ends so Fibaman's suggestion seems very sensible

as above.

sounds like broken spring....difficult to see on the car.

or drop the suspension arm, remove spring and then put it all back again
