picked up an 03 230k on Thursday night to replace me written off Focus CC, its silver , rusty but has a good spec , heated leather etc , AMG rims , I plan to have the bodywork restored after the winter as I feel its worth it for the price I paid for it , it drives very well , smooth and quiet , tight steering , the brakes may need renewing all round yet but I haven't had time to go over it properly

will get some loaded up asap pal , do these suffer with rust in any places other than the arches , bootlid , bonnet ?

Majority of rust is usually cosmetic, only the occasional one has terminal rust.

There is usually one small almost mandatory patch of rust under the boot lid catch. It's worth checking the rear subframe too as these occasionally suffer heavy spot corrosion.

Well done on the SLK.
I have one too and it's an absolute delight, especially with the top down in the Summer. You've mentioned the main rust points (and boot lid as mentioned by antijam).
Probably the best fun I've ever had with a car.

ive always liked the slk , I used to drive one years back as my mates mum had one so I very much looking forward to doing a few drives in it
