So Poland see their sovereignty as a priority over eu federalism.

Poland judiciary reforms: EU takes disciplinary measures - BBC News

and are now under threat because.
I could never imagine Poland leaving the ue, in the short term at least,
but it would balance the shortfall of us leaving.

I wonder how much they would be expected to pay as a settlement? Poland would be on a winner if it was a multiple of their annual contribution.

Edit- Sorry ue must've been a Freudian slip I meant eu.

Poland gets an awful lot of our money as they are the biggest beneficiary of EU funds.

I wonder if they will put other countries contributions up to make up the shortfall when we actually leave or will Poland and others get less ?

It would now seem logical then to have another referendum to lay the issue to bed once and for all. I do not fear it, but would hope for a healthy remain vote. I see nothing wrong with people having fears over their futures, in a country that should have been a leader in the Europe Union, as opposed to one that just lay down and accepted the 'diktat', from those who just happened to be much more upfront and interested in shaping the future of the EU, towards their own vested interests.
Best of three?

Hmmm. As I understand it the Polish government are seeking to undermine the independence of the judiciary (making the courts political and more an arm of the government) and the EU (rightly) are concerned about this but somehow that's acceptable under the guise of 'sovereignty?
The rule of law is one of the cornerstones of a democratic government and the actions of the polish government are seeking to undermine that. Why wouldn't the EU act?

If Poland were to voluntarily leave I suspect their divorce bill would be a multiple of their contributions (not including anything they got back) since it's based on future committed projects within the EU.
