^ Did anyone watch the Andrew Marr show this morning with David Davis explaining some questions about the latest Brexit talks? He made a lot of sense to me and came over very well. The Brexit bill was answered sensibly and anyone thinking you'd accept a bill and pay it without checking it is a fool.
He also made the point , strongly, that Labour are now reneging on their election promise to leave. What a surprise.
Its their only hope of toppling the Conservatives and gaining any power.

Well worth a look to the remaniacs, although in their eternal pessimism it will be ignored.

I thought he came over quite well and seems to be getting on with a complex negotiation. It hasn't changed my view that I think we ought to remain though.

Davis is it seems well suited to the job, but we must remember there are an awful lot of people that want to scupper these negotiations.
Any opportunity for mischief making both here and in the rest of the EU will be grasped.
Who can forget Ms Millar wasting our taxes, it is beyond optimistic to think she has hung up her cudgels.
Those of any persuasion who think its plain sailing are in for a shock.

There is a a big problem with Conservative Remainers and a lot of others who are very unhappy with Mayhem and how the Tory party is now at its lowest. They cannot find a new leader, and they cannot dump May as this may trigger a new Election.
So how do you make sure this doesn't happen.... You blame Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party.
You fill the airwaves and papers with a few well briefed Cabinet Members, led by David Davis who comes across as if he knows what he is doing and that the brexit talks are going well then throw in the Corbyn factor and how labour will muck it all up.
What is there not to like... if you are a Tory supporter and don't like Jeremy....
The big problem is the voters like Jeremy and know how the Tories lie....
Just wait until the EU Brexit negotiators tell their side of how well the talks are going.

To be fair every government since the second Tony Blair one has adopted this approach. Corbyn may want to spend 1% more of money that doesn't exist and make the problem 1% worse but to think that anyone else is doing anything largely different is naive.

And they have no choice really, the economy would be bust without government/company/individuals getting into more debt, hence the can kicking by all parties.

Atleast in Southern Europe we have had a recession and correction as personal debt levels diminished rapidly since 2008, but now the economy is up for the first time in a while and guess what, consumer debt has started increasing again and it's that that is fuelling it.

Meanwhile the UK has never had this correction largely due to the increase in personal debt which has occurred sine 2008 (if you add personal and government debt Britain is more bankrupt than Greece, Spain, Italy pretty much anyone except Japan). It's off the radar now as it remains personal debt but if 2008 shows us anything it's that in a crisis personal debt over night becomes government debt...

Our own personal debt is now rising rapidly to levels well above that of the 2008 crash. But no one seems to notice or worry about it, because its not good news when there is a Tory government in place.. Get out there guys and seek the information for yourselves. Do not depend on Rupert Murdoch or the tory press to tell you what is happening because you will end up blinkered...
There has been a few economists who have said we are about to flat line again. Its just a matter of time, as the low interest rates have kept things on a very shaky even keel. Brexit will be the deciding factor.
But reality is never a good medicine when you have committed to self destruction.

Blair's latest revelation reveals one thing to me that Juncher and friends are becoming really concerned that Brexit will make them extremely unpopular in Europe and the mantra of the four cornerstones of the EU shown up for what it is unworkable. Evolution of the EU will only progress when the unelected elite in Brussels are replaced by politicians who are accountable. Regarding TB, his time has passed, an apology would have been nice to all the decent people who had concerns over strains on public services and infrastructure who were branded racists and anti-immigration

Blairs house buying analogy was clearly inappropriate, we are getting divorced not moving.
Maybe Cherie might accept "I want to see what my next girlfriend is like before signing the divorce papers"
but in the real world we opt to leave the current relationship and do it.

Will it all be plain sailing ....nope but our current partner is a control freak who wants to rule our lives, some like being under the thumb and having their wages taken off them and getting "pocket money" back.
Some like their partners "friends" having the run of the house emptying the fridge then sodding off.
Some aren't capable of deciding anything without running it past 27 fair weather friends.
Frustrating and annoying the other sides divorce lawyer by "Sir Humphrey" going through the paper work line by line sounds pretty good to me.

Does anyone think Jeremy Corbyn would be so fastidious with our money ?

You really have gone into this in a big way, only problem is its all rubbish as spouted by Sour Nigel and his money making compatriots and power grabbing enemies... No one likes him but he's a good front.
Just watch how much these guys will raid the kitty before you even get a chance to fill the fridge.
There is no reason why we cannot be the strong man of Europe, biggest problem is the Uk has always seen the EU as a side show and an old boys club where we just needed to send some oiks to, just to let them know we were still part of the team.
Our commitment was never to see how we could influence the EU. Who could ever possibly name their MEP, a totally nondescript and faceless person, and in many cases, totally useless as well. Farage is the epitome of this.
Why should the others in the EU give the brits an easy time, they are the ones who want to retain the benefits and enjoy the 'freedom.' It brings a new meaning to the old adage 'Benefits' Britian.
And at least with Jeremy Corbyn the people who matter will get the services they need and not have to worry about eating or heating.
Why should the ones who pay for the services be denied those services when they need them. Few Austerity loving Tory MPs will ever have to queue up at food banks or NHS A&E and wait inline until they are dealt with.
I do remember David Cameron lauding the NHS when he had a sick kid, when it was actually more to appease his own electioneering
What we never heard was how long he had to sit in the queue to avail of that service. How long do you think he waited .....

I was addressing Tony Blairs comments which you seem to have missed totally but never mind.

As to Jeremy Corbyn you do realise he is more anti-EU than me ?

* Corbyn opposed Britain's membership of the European Union (EU).[190] Corbyn also opposed the ratification of the Maastricht Treaty in 1993, saying: "... the whole basis of the Maastricht treaty is the establishment of a European central bank which is staffed by bankers, independent of national Governments and national economic policies, and whose sole policy is the maintenance of price stability

Corbyn also opposed the Lisbon Treaty in 2008[194] and backed a proposed referendum on British withdrawal from the European Union in 2011.[195] Additionally, he accused the institution of acting "brutally" in the 2015 Greek crisis, accusing the EU of allowing financiers to destroy its economy

But don't worry the grand hypocrite is now flipping in grand style and next week he might join the Lib Dums or move to Brussels if he see's a vote in it.

If you think he's any different to any other politician in that regard you're more deluded than I thought!

Corbyn also opposed the Tory government of Cameron and now Mayhen, is that against the rules as well.... I am more concerned about how he would look after the lesser mortals of this country. His opposition to the EU and their pandering to big business and the bankers should be applauded at all times..Its just a pity more MEP's don't use their influence more to protest and try and stop these Mega dollar stealing conglomerates. What is not to like.
He's a 'darned sight' more up front and honest than any of the mob currently residing in Downing Street. This is why he is popular with the younger voters, plus they haven't as yet been tarnished by the mortgage, and their own little part of Britian mentality, which will be taken away when their age related needs out performs their financial care requirement.
And remember who wants to take it from you.
As for B'liar he is a spent force and few if any will listen to his pro Euro sentiments...Pity in a way because he is the only one who is getting any press on this.

Honest! He has changed his tune more than his underwear when it comes to Brexit, and only to further his own cause.
He doesn't care about the UK's wish to leave, only to disrupt, and hopefully get another chance to call for an election.

As for his popularity with the young...........they are still holding onto his lies about uni fees.

And remember which party got booted out when they had finished spending someone elses money.
We are still paying for that now.

Seriously when you start researching things for yourself and stop relying on the Tory party press for your information then we can have meaningful dialogue...
You are using the same drivel that The Tory party press, fed by the Tory party spin doctors, to make arguments that are not only false but have been conveniently construed to distort the truth....check it out and come back to me.
Don't you find it amazing how many 'facts' about Jeremy Corbyn have been unearthed by the Tories since he made Mayhem soil her panties when the results of the last general election started coming in.
A big reason not to call another general election, due to more soiling all round.
