Been reading Parrot of Doom,s excilent thread on replacing the bulbs in the heater pannel. I intend doing this job on Saturday. Does anyone have any info on the bulbs required.I dont have a MB dealer here (in Russia)to get the correct bulbs before I start the job & where I will be doing the job is a 30min drive to the nearest shop thet will sell the bulbs & the shop cannot advise me on the bulbs I need. Are they the small capless type?.I would appreciate any info that would enable me to buy the bulbs before doing the job if possable.
Thanks in advance

If it helps they are a fairly standard type (glass, capless, with the wire folded back over the glass where you push them in) - having got mine out I did the 5min drive to one of the local car part shop and showed them it. They produced one instantly.

it does look like it'll

be the small capless 1.2 watt variety. You could amuse us all by telling us what they call them in Russian.

nice 201 2.5D 1993 & very nice 129 SL500 1994
Be care full with the rating, some of the bulbs on my 124 are 0.6W (0.05A), any higher and the plastic bits that surround them may melt.
The correct type is T1 1/2 wedge base, they are avalable in 0.03A, 0.05A & 0.1A from RS components and other industrial electonics suppliers at a price much better than most high street outlets. The RS no for 0.6W is 283-8330 @ £0.323ea (10off).

Thanks you all for your help,I completed the job yesterday & had the correct bulbs. Capless 12v 1.2w with a plastic base. Also fitted a "Lampopocha" to the dash pannel, fuel return pipes to the injectors & fitted one glow plug.I only fitted the one replacement glow plug as the quality of goods here are sometimes questionable, there are lots of cheap Chinese copies of everything here & to look at them its impossabe to tell genuine from copies.I will bring back a set of glow plugs from Uk. Next Saturday will be a waxoil day before the winter gets any worse.
Regards
