yeah - i went via carwow to get quotes so I think with other discounts I'm not getting 7k - the Mercedes thing is odd - they don't seem willing to guarantee a dealer will give 7k for it - I did a live chat with them and they were very non-committal

It is on their web site so they have to honour it

yes but it's not in conjunction with any other offer so if there's anything at all off the list price of a car then it's not valid.
So the AMG in question is already something like 9k off list price plus the 2.8k for the car so they won't give the 7k as advertised as it's only if off the full list price

Smoke and mirrors on discounts as usual just make sure you get a good deal. The whole scrappage scheme needs to be much more transparent and should be added to any negotiated discount

Wasn't aware of the discount already applied to the car

OK Folks so what's the thoughts - as you might have guessed by the fact I'm trading in an 09 plate - it's been a while since I've bought a new car (it was bought new in 2009). If I'm looking for a C-Class estate - to keep costs down and have a little tradeable value at end is PCP the best route - if so, does this look a good deal on the AMG?

I would be very cautious regarding the residual value element of the deal, diesel cars are suffering a larger than expected drop in secondhand prices due to expected penalties by the government on emissions, not sure who picks up the difference if the car looses more value at 36 months than expected

Update - looking at the deal, it's a 'new' but 2016 car. Does that make any difference do you think?

You would need to look to see what changed between the 2016 model and the 2017 model.
