Hi.
Hope this is being posted in the correct category.
My front passenger side window regulator has just given up the ghost on my prefacelift 1992 230CE.
What I'm trying to discern is whether the regulator (and the motor) are coupe-specific or common across the 124 series range? I have read conflicting reports.
Asking primarily as the glass in a coupe is much bigger (and heavier) than in saloons and estates.
(Have posted 'wanted ' ad in relevant section).
Any guidance much appreciated.

HI talking to a friend at the car show last year , he said he was looking for one .And what problems he had finding one for his coupe . You will need to pull the door card and check for sure ,i am cirtain he said that they were not the same as the W124 saloon .The type he had was operated on a cable lift But it may have been for his back side window ..I just looked on ebay they are all the same and no cable . Yours will be a larger cradle to hold the larger window glass ...I will look in my manual .

No, is the answer! Coupe are different to saloon and estate.

If It is the window motor packed up you can have it repaired, not expensive , about the same price as a second hand unit.

Yes quickest way to weld up . But a good secondhand is the way to go .Thats if you can find one .M6 you wont know what need work till you pull the door card off .You might fond a wire off teeth worn off so motor wont turn it .Or the motor itself could be worn out

Now the motors just might be the same as w124 saloon . Get the number from the drive motor ,. Whats wrong with the old one have you put 12 volts to it .This sends it one way then reversal of wires -sends it the other [thats if i am right ]
