Hey guys,

Ive got a 2006 automatic C180K and ive been having a problem with the ignition start up for the last 6 months.
Whether the car is hot or cold, every now and then, more often then usual it would crank but not start. After several attempts it would start normally. Sometimes the engine would start but would immediately shake and cut off.
Also, it feels like the car has no power and makes late gear changes

Ive seen several mechanics about this issue and have replaced the air mass sensor, fuel filter, fuel pump and the crank shaft sensor but still with no results.

I am running out of hope on this and would really appreciate some help!

Thanks!

Sorry need to retype this, inlet camshaft sprocket worn allowing the chain to slip, this alters the timing. Search on here plenty about it and common on the 271 engine.

Thanks for the feedback,

if it were the inlet manifold sproket then there would be a constant misfire and loss of power, which isnt in my case.

Any other suggestions?

Yes find someone with star diagnostics and go from there might be the cheapest way to determine your faults.

My guess chains slipped but hey what do I know.
