Useful figures, but it'll also be how & where those gains are delivered that you'll notice first!
They are slightly down on what you can get from GAD, 20bhp and 55nm. But still fast enough.

He means on the power curve, gear and rpm- often a figure can be given for power gain but it’s all in the wrong place to be useful to you as a driver - above is an example...(apologies scanned with my phone not the most perfect image!)

So could that mean that there might not be any obvious differences from MSL and GAD?

Also as before GAD have never proven their quoted their figures on a dyno. There was also a case when GAD mapped a 55k, quoted some figures and after a couple of months was at a dyno day at MSL, the actual number were very down on what they stated it should be.
As Carl said, number are for talk the graph you get from a dyno showing your how and where the power is is what makes the smiles bigger :D

So, MSL can get a gain of 30bhp and 50lb/ft of torque. I only mentioned the % as this what a lot of those plug and play companies go by.
Useful indeed
I insure through Churchill and they allowed up to 20% power increase for a nominal premium increase (about £50)

Insurance was something that I hadn't looked into, so I will have to do this.

Privilege are/were the same John, though 21% for some reason. They were fine up to that, irrespective of mods, but anything above they wouldn't touch, which is why I had to end up with A Plan.

Some bother about it, some don't. It's always worth telling them though as, if not, you're giving them a get out clause.

Actually when I checked it’s also 21% was going by memory! Strange number...
As you know Dave I pondered the route of informing or not but for £50 and peace of mind it wasn’t worth not doing

I know the map is virtually unditectable, but I wouldn't be happy not being fully covered. I've got a few things to do before this anyway.

Virtually undetectable but, and it's a big but, in the event of a serious incident they may decide to interrogate the ECU to confirm it's original. In all honesty I've only heard of this on the "hot hatch" type things but not a risk I'd be prepared to take. Mine only went up by about £20 anyway so not worth ignoring. When I changed insurers, I took it up to a ~60% increase (860bhp) and it actually came down in price...

Same for my car, advising the increase made no difference to the cost but had to pay the £20 admin fee

Don't worry I wouldn't be upgrading without updating insurance.

VW Scirocco. The Quattro, E350 CDi Blue Efficiency Sport Coupe, now both gone
No such thing as enough power! Ask @daveenty.

I used to own Skoda Octavia vRS. I tuned the two I had and the last one started at 200ps and 207lbft from the factory.

When sold it had over 380bhp and nearly 400lbft.

Were you on the Briskoda Forum Carl? if so what was your name? I've had a couple of vRS Fabia's, TDi I might add, just loved the torque and the things you could do with those cars, great fun.

I was also on the Forum too.
