I have a 350e hybrid.
Most times when I charge the battery using a normal 13 Amp socket, the charging stops at around 13 miles stored.
Occasionally I have seen this figure up at 18 miles.
Does any one know why there is this difference? And
How can I ensure maximum battery charge every time?
Regards
John

I'm keen to see a response to this. I see the same results. I picked up my car on Saturday and it was fully charged. A Sunday charge via the 3 pin capped out at 68%. I wondered why.

John,
Reading other posts it seems that your charge may reach 100% but will estimate miles based on previous usage. Is your car pre-owned? Mine is and tops out at 12-13 miles. I imagine that as I use it mainly for city driving, and the MPG is frequently at 99.9, this range estimate should rise.
Separately, I still have the issue that my 3 pin charger won't charge beyond 68%. A dealer (not official MB) told me that was common and only fast charging would reach 100%, but I'm not convinced.

Hi.
I charge my 350e using a 13 Amp socket and it charges up to 100%.
I have now discovered that 100% battery indicated charge equates to 12 or 13 miles available. However, the number of miles available drops to zero when the battery charge still equals 20%. ie 80% =13 miles, therefore 100%=16 miles
I’m happy now, although I don’t really know why 20%=O miles available.
Thank you all for your replies.

How long does it take to get to 100% and do you use a special outlet or is it a regular plug?
I use a standard 13 Amp household socket.
I haven’t measured exactly how long it takes to charge, but it’s around two hours from minimum to 100%

Almost certainly because at 20% charge, the available charge algorithms cannot be sure of the actual energy content remaining in the battery (the calculation becomes less precise as the battery charge drops, it's an inherent result of the tech) so the car's predictive range does the same as the fuel gauge- once available charge drops below the point at which it can be accurately measured, display zero.
