Car won't start after Crankshaft Position Sensor Replaced

Should be in the large fuse box under the bonnet . The top will come off to see the unit . On top is a set of plugs and three or four fuses , the plugs will pull out ,then the whole sam will do the ame ,it plugs in . It might just be condensation in side ,or the pins dirty . You do have a switch on the gear selector ,these can be a hit or a miss. May be a right way to do this sam removal and instal ,but i think its plug and play . Your garage should have star equipment to read you computer for faults .

This is the K40 you will see it with fuses on the top . Check it out it might just be a bad fuse .All those little plugs will pull up and out to remove the K40 from the car to take a better inspection, also a vidio on youtube how to repair them .

The car had been behaving relatively normally since your advice ( once a week usage) but since yesterday not. Very strong cranking ending with low oil warning light. Looked up a few YouTube videos and followed the advice from this one.

Following your advice and this YouTube clip the car has decide to fire up several times. My solder was not strong enough to do all the connections. Fingers crossed it has solved the problem.

Unfortunately the problem is back.

I've noticed that on the occasions that it does not start you can't hear the fuel pump running just before ignition. So if the pump activating sound is not present it will crank but no ignition. After several attempts the whirring pump sound comes on and car starts.

It did stall whilst driving but fortunately it started immediately( was in outside lane).

Would you say that the W211 is the same as your W210 ?
Go to youtube and put in the search - Mercedes W211 No Start No Fuel Pressure Fuel Pump Problems. It just could be your problem .

I bet you'd find them in a lot of fuse boxes in cars in scrap yards ..... they were certainly used in my Omega & Astra G

The Indi charged me £80 to replace this relay back in December.

Found this Youtube video to test if the relay is faulty. It's a 2001 W210 mine is 2000.Is the relay on my one in the same location as this 2001 W210?

This is an interesting fix for the W211. If only these were so easily accessible on my one.

This is the relay causing the problem of random non starts. If I remove & replace it the car starts.

Is any particular brand recommended?
