I found out about this one from another thread though the reference to it has now been lost so I thought I'd let it have it's own place. Thanks to @peterws1957 for pointing it out to me. :)

It's apparently held on the 2nd Sunday of each month, and run by the Veterans Garage as a bit of a fund raiser for them and attracts a few cars. They also run an American Car Club meet on the 1st Sunday of the month which I went to today. The American cars were conspicuous by their absence unfortunately as there is another bigger meet happening over Saddleworth way I was told, so I ended up coming home around 10:30.

I'll be there for 09:00 next week, weather permitting in the 190E, if not I'll take the E Class. It would be nice to have a relatively local venue for meets as we don't seem to get much up this way. They have a reasonably sized picnic area, a funfair for the kids, which wasn't working today though there is a play area, and a massive cafe so most things seem to be taken care of.

The queue for the cafe is apparently longer than PW meet Dave - take a flask. Hope to be there on 12th if weather ok. Nearly took one of the barges there today , glad I didn't from what you said.

Yeah am planning on taking the E63S. Aiming for 9am arrival as it’s only a short hop from here (played golf at Boysnope a few times before they sold it off for housing!)
    Forecast is shite though.....

To be honest, if the weather turns out to be as currently forecast, I won't be in the 190E which will be a shame as it's due a little run out, but I've no intention of spending the rest of my Sunday underneath it wiping it down.

I may go in the E Class but again, if it's pouring down it seems pointless really.

The event is largely on a huge field so I suspect boggy if weather takes a turn for the worse.

As it's raining here at the moment and we're supposed to be parking on a field then, unless there's a rapid change in the weather, I'll be giving this a miss today.

I may just go to look at a car this morning instead as the X Trail could be due for changing, mainly due to my extremely short attention span with cars...

Well, what a difference a couple of hours makes.

Not exactly bright sunshine but at least it's stopped raining, so I'm going to make the effort and hopefully get there for around 09:30 for an hour or two.

Just posted at the same time as you Matt. :)

No, not a Range Rover, though I do still miss my old one. Something very different though no clues yet as I'm only partially decided.

I ended up going to this little meet this morning. Very well organised with plenty of marshals directing traffic in a well laid out ground. A bit quiet, probably due to the weather, but a fair turn out nonetheless. Nobody from here which I suppose was to be expected but a couple of decent Mercedes, including a W215 CL600 and a nice S211 E55, with a few mods according to the owner.

Not enough variety to really pick a favourite out, though a nice Jensen Interceptor caught my eye. The owner had apparently bought it as a bag of parts and spent 4 years getting it back on the road again. Kudos. :)

I think that all the Mazda MX5s in the North West were there, all different years and various stages of mods. A couple of nice 105E Anglias as well, along with some other older stuff.

I'm definitely going to try for next month (9th September I believe), just hope that the weather's a bit better.

I'll let you know when/if I decide anything Matt, still not 100% on what I'm after yet and, as the little X Box thing I'm currently using as a daily owes me next to nothing, I may just be tempted to keep it another year or two.

Sorry for my no-show. I stayed up into early hours as sis-in-law gave birth yesterday evening, so wifey had to shoot to hospital with her. Will try for next time.

The next meet is on the 9th September apparently. There's an American car meet the week before but I can't do that one.

I'll hopefully be there again as it's a good way to pass a few hours by on a Sunday, though weather dependant of course.
