Dear all.
I own a 2004 SL 500 and I'm experiencing the following issues with the central locking system.
I wonder if someone would be good enough to diagnose the symptoms and advise how to resolve the problem please.

The central locking is no longer operational with the key fob but the indicator lights still flash when the fob buttons are pressed. I can still open the drivers door with the key. The passenger door plunger remains depressed at all times.
The boot is permanently locked and won't open, even with the key.
The above symptoms are resolved when I change the yellow 20a fuse in the console at the rear of the drivers seat, but this fuse blows more or less immediately when I use the fob to operate the central locking.

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Howard.

You have water in the PSE pump in boot most likely. The PSE pump is responsible for operation of the central locking and when the pump fails thec20A fuse will often blow.

As above , when you are able to get into the boot look under the carpet and find the PSE pump and surround it will more than likely show some signs of water ingress. Get it dried out and make sure it’s operating correctly then to prevent it in the future get the boot and roof seals redone. Very common on these cars
