Hi everyone,

I need to change the pre cat Lambda sensor on my 2005 CLK200. In typical fashion the wire disappears behind the engine. What’s the best way to get to the connector? There doesn’t appear to be much slack.

Cheers, pic should be attached!

Not sure about the Lambda , but have you ever had a gearbox ATF change , the tab looks black which is original factory . Would have a red tab otherwise ?

It doesn’t look like it has, it was mentioned at the B service so I’ll probably get it done when the A comes round in a few months. Trying to sort rich running at the moment but STAR diagnosis shows no faults other than the Lambda reading high! Can’t find a vac leak either.

If it's the same as the C class it's on the left hand side of the gearbox mounted in a plastic clip. Access from below the car after removing the rear plastic under-tray. Tie a piece of cord to the end as you remove it as it makes it a lot easier to pull the new one in over and around the back of the engine and bell housing.

That’s great thanks! I’ll have a look tomorrow.
