cl500 air con problem

2002 CL500.
Ive got a problem with my climate control. With everything in auto and temp set to low, I have cold air coming from centre vents but hot air coming from windscreen demist and both side vents and nothing at all coming from footwell or rear vents. Any ideas anybody???

Needs to go on star diags to see whats wrong but my guess the AC gas has gone.

I don't think that the centre vents ever blow hot air.
Have you set the system to auto? This will control the direction of air flow as well as blower speed and direction.
If the display shows the windscreen demist symbol then you'll always get hot air onto the windscreen irrespective of temperature set.
When running is the AC off button light lit? If the system is disabled or low on gas then this will be lit.
If you're sure that its not a settings or gas problem then a STAR diagnostic is required.
