I like the face lifted rear lamps. The AMG badging needs to go... and I’m not overly fond of window tints...

I took off the 500 badge but it left ‘residue’, hence I didn’t remove the AMG badge.
Any ideas on the best way to remove the badge?

no need to apologise. Each to their own.
I’ve never had tints in any of my cars but I think it suits this one. Gives it the Russian mafia look. Lol.

Best thing is to heat the badge up with a hair dryer and then take them off with dental floss or fishing line, if you have any residue then spread a little Vaseline on it for a bit (about 15 minutes) and it should wipe off.

Re the front tints, they do look a little dark to be legal, what % tint did you go for on them?

Nope defo not legal. Will use them for as long as poss. Till I get pulled.

That is just straight irresponsible. Not good behaviour at all for someone driving a 2 ton motor.

Hairdryer to heat the adhesive and peel them off then Auto Glym SRP to remove the rest of the residue, takes a bit of elbow grease but fairly easy

I don't think you realise the seriousness of what you are saying. With illegal tints the car is deemed un-roadworthy and may therefore invalidate your insurance. I can understand you may like the look and you don't mind too much getting a prohibition notice together with a penalty but you really should re-think what you are doing.

6 points for two illegal tints on front windows.
Police officers call at the side of the road, I wouldn't risk it to be fair..

In the side on view, the fronts do look a bit 'less' tinted than the rears, and it looks to be a good job, the rear screen must be pretty awkward to do as it is very curved.
Like the rims too.:)

Car does look nice with them and they're great for use during the day but we're coming towards early dark nights and I guess you wont be removing them for driving at night?

How many people would wear sunglasses at night when pulling onto a main road from a T junction?
They are illegal for a reason you know.

They aren't illegal per se are they? I thought that there was a permissible % of tint which will pass the mot?

A minimum of 70% light transmission (30% tint) is the law.

Yep - way lighter than that. I think its 15% is the legal threshold.

There is. Less than 32% is deemed illegal. That is more like a 70% tint.
I can't say too much because I bought my car with tints and they are not legal on the front Been on for over 4yrs now.
