To insure my CL in Daventy is £255 more, and on the SL up by £133.

The Joke is the new house is cheaper :confused::confused:

This now make the CL500 £625 With max possible no claim

I can see me shopping around next year, no time right now to do anything about it.

its amazing the difference a postcode makes. a guy I work with lived with his gran. then he moved back into his parents home, some 8 miles (by road) away. over £200 saved in the move on insurance on a 1.0 Vauxhall Corsa (at the time)

I considered moving to the same village as the kids live in (no houses available yet anyhow) and that move, only 1.5 miles from where I am, puts my insurance up over £100! (like you with max available no claims etc)

I cant figure it out either!

I actually got the best quote off my renewal for the first time ever , its gone up 143 quid , which is annoying but apparently ALL car insurance is going up , I tried compare websites but couldn't get anywhere near as low as my renew price

Probably a function of the neighbours, the neighbourhood and the risks of accidental damage or theft Malcolm.

What effect will your arrival have on their premia?

Not sure yet Alex, it is a good area where my house is, strange that the house that is bigger is cheaper.

I will post the later after a few weeks.

Better neighbourhoods can be more expensive, my insurer told me. because people tend to be more likely to claim on the insurance.

It is interesting, there are fewer cars there than down here, the roads are better in Daventry with no crazy holiday makers. The crime figure are not bad. As I have said I will try some others next year.

Indeed you are right, I am with a multi with Direct line, I was going to have my last SL with Aviva but sold it. They will be the ones that I contact next year.

Direct Line put the insurance up by £125 last month, I complained and they took it off again.

Why such a difference between the SL and thd CL.? Doesn't make sense to me.

I agree,,, I had this battle last year, and many say the same price. Quite a lot of CL's get written off.

Do try Aviva multi-car for a quote Malcolm they are very competitive with my three and they offer full RAC cover for circa £80 as well

Seems like robbery to me, need to swop insurer as you should do every year, my SL insured as a daily with full NCB and protected, for £200 odd, getting quotes for both classic 300ce/200TE 3k miles including breakdown cover for £155.
