Hi guys, my new CLC 220 arrives tomorrow. 150 BHP as standard...

Where do I start? I want more power, responsiveness, if I get a little MPG improvement too even better...

I know I can get a remap, I asked a Mercedes technician and he said these can often be accidentally wiped during the Mercedes service, he said a plug in box is better.

Any thoughts on this and if so which ones...

Also what else can I do? I really want to get 200bhp, Ive seen boxes that promise 180-190, I'm not interested in changing the exhaust yet as the car is low mileage and the exhaust is nowhere near needing replacement, things like induction kits (no idea what they are or do), filters (is that the same thing)... This kind of thing...

Any advice greatly received!

Get yourself over to Acid at MSL, tuning is his business and being in Birmingham you don't have to go to far to have a chat with them and see the setup they have.

So you're looking to remap a brand new car? Without knowing what it's capable of at the moment? First time I'm hearing of something like that... (not that there's anything wrong with it, just strange to me)

180-190bhp is the most you will get really?!?! Injectors will pretty much be maxed out to get that power! Air filters and exhaust will help it breath but you would not massive increase further. But have a word with acid as he is local to you im sure he can help you out!

Many thanks

I think its new to the OP not a brand new car. I don't think the CLC is available new anymore.

I've done that on my previous two new from the factory cars. Put 1500-2k miles on them to ensure no build issues. Then unleash the beast within.

I know someone who took a car with delivery mileage straight to a tuner and tuned it from 200bhp to 360bhp.

But for the OP a remap will be your best bet. I'm currently running a DTUK tuning box on mine (although mine is a V6 Diseasel) and it's ok but when i can sort the time I will get it remapped.

Yes we have remapped new cars previously, as you say its about the beast within. Cars are factory tuned to meet certain government Co2 requirements while compromising on mpg/power. Not necessarily to get the best performance. By remapping we are simply throwing out the rule book and making these cars the way the manufacturers would truly want... :)
To clarify though, I am going to use it a few weeks as standard to have a baseline to compare it to.
I hired a Seat Leon FR diesel 2.0. Its 180ish HP and very quick. Surely a CLC can be tuned to this or better! Id be very happy if I could make it move in a similar way.
