That’s a nice project! Don’t know about paint shops in your area (and your car is a rag top and mine isn’t) but I was quoted £5000 to have my CLK resprayed locally. If you can get it done for £1000 and it looks good, I need the number of that body shop!
Hi Sasha, 5k sounds expensive, I hope my quote is cheaper than that :) Is yours a special paint colour?

Sadly it’s only Brilliant Silver or something like that. It’s silver, boring colour haha

In theory a cabriolet should be cheaper, as there isn't a roof to spray.

I think it depends on the quality of the job. I got some quotes a while back on a different car for bonnet and bumper, and I was getting quoted a £1k!

Keep us updated Kev, be good to see the progress on this one.

My local paintshop quotes £300 per panel and £150 additional per panel if it needs blending in.

Hi, quick update. Managed to find a set of the original alloy wheels that came as standard on the final edition model. In need of refurbishment but still a good find. =-)

They look like Alhenas - same as fitted to W210 E class.

They may well be but searched the Internet and most final edition have those wheels?

Indeed- good find, I’ve never been lucky enough to find wheels of the right type when needed!

I can usually find the wheels I'm looking for but never at the right price!
I object to paying silly money for a set of period AMG 129 wheels.....

Well guys it's been 3 months to get all the bodywork sorted and painted up but I think it was worth the wait. Happy as a pig in S**T. Only charged £1000 for 2 x new rear arches fabricating and welding and painting 2 x new wings fitted and painted,1 x new boot fitted and painted, all doors, bonnet, bumpers and skirts all painted. Just got it back today, may the warm sunny weather continue. Happy Days!

Nice example.
I had a quote for one of the strips along the glass roof to be done, and that was £300

Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated. It makes all the blood sweat and tears, oh and the hard earned cash that's been spent on it all worth while. Happy Motoring!

Hmmm. I was quoted over £1k just to do four arches with just a few bubbles/slight surface rust.
I’d go for a full respray for £1k too.

Hi Guys,
I am currently looking at replacing the worn Alcantara on the front seats of my CLK Final edition. I've taken it to a Car Trimmers and he says he can't get the same colour Alcantara. Does anyone know what colour or code of Alcantara was used on this model. Thanks in advance Kevin
