Comments like that are not only stupid (since they haven't been been with you ll the time) and possibly defamatory.

I hope you were able to "reason" with them Craig!
Oh no Dave. They weren’t interested. 3 weeks to get a workshop appointment (I was due to drive to France at the end of the week) so I had to shell out £350 to get the work done myself. Then when I got back, I asked them to repay the work done.

“Sorry we do not recognise this as a warranty failure.”

“The car has done under 5k and it’s brake discs have failed! That’s a failure!”

“It must be due to your driving style. Please feel free to take this up with the ombudsman.”

Now they’re wondering why I won’t buy a new car from them.

When I was in the lift truck trade we had quite a serious issue on a batch of trucks where the brakes basically didn't work very soon after they were sold. It turned out to be due to extreme tolerances i.e.: the drums were at their maximum and the shoes were at their minimum. All legal and correct(ish) but not funny sitting on a truck with your full weight on the brake pedal but still moving! We got a quick authorisation to replace the "non-faulty" drums under warranty and the manufacturers sourced a big stock of shoes at minimum tolerance.

Yeah, tolerance stacks are funny old things.
