Philistines!!!!!!! ;)

dont get that.i am very happy to do this when the abc trys to take a large bite out of my wallet, there are PLENTY of very nice performance gt cars that drive great with coil overs, in fact most do .ABC is great , for the first owner who never need think about the cost ,complication , aggrivation of this system. i bought my SL for the good experiences the stunning looks and performance, i did not buy it to bite me in the arse and calling for the aa relay. and if one keeps this model it is a case of when it will bite and not if. i intend to have a plan that imcludes a one off solution to the abc expenses .one will undertake long carefree tours an a great but ageing car with just one less concern than at present. from what i understand the coil over also make the car 70 kg lighter. where is the downside.....

I will do it one day. The car will look the same and in some instances will ride better. And I will be certain that I will finish every journey under my own steam.

And I will get my money back selling the spare parts to...Craig.:)

Just going to drop this grenade and run.....:)
“I never thought my ABC was discernibly different from decent coils and can’t say I’ve missed it”
There! I’ll get my coat
I would love to have another SL but the 231 without ABC....
(Yeah yeah I know I’ve got airmatic now but that’s quite different)

In over fourteen years of ownership and 145,000 miles I have spent £1887.77 on the ABC system of my R230 so it really is not an issue at 1.3ppm
To give some perspective to that figure tyres have been costing me 2.8ppm.

The ABC parts have dropped in price for the Mercedes, why can't Bentley do the same
John you ain't driving around the corners by braking first????
I've been in coil over cars which have been blessed with this boy racer mod, yes the cornering is very good and can keep up with ABC until you push the limit up on the ABC and then the hot hatch coil overs start fading from your review mirrors ;)
On a bumpy road coil overs are no match for the ABC........So much fun proving these scenarios :D
