Very good detective work chaps :D

The exterior colour according to the order is Green Black, have no idea what they call this colour. It appears black and with the sunlight is blue and other times it's green? The same colour interior as the 55. Again no extras fitted, apart from the Lingatronic. Just a same we could get a Jasper blue colour again, but as Janet said, 'I'll get used to the colour.'
Still it isn't a patch on the smoothness of the old SL500's ride.
Up to date service book.
Also 2 ABC pumps within a short period of time.......Even new main dealership MB pumps can fail within months ;)
The old SL is being collected next week :(
All in all seems a reasonable replacement with 4700 miles to next service and 7 MB Stamps, last one at Welwyn Merx.
Fingers crossed we get a good run out of this one like her old 500 :)
Don't forget to swap over any parts that are newer on the old SL with the older ones on the newer SL and anything like trim that are in better condition plus take out the wind deflector. :D

And swap for best wheels/tyres...

Ride being poor could be tired gas spheres. Look for ABC warnings on bumpy roads.

Reminds me of the days when a car was hired for a weekend, and a complete drivetrain, wheel/tyre, battery, alternator change was effected before dropping it back as the Monday morning rush for hire cars was underway...

Or your mate with the same wheels/tyres on his company car would get a pit stop whilst you sat catching up over coffee :shock::rolleyes::rolleyes:

The ABC radiator is the only newest part on the old SL, too much trouble that swap.......Deflector upstairs in it's bag ;)

Funny you should mention those, Welwyn Merx just fitted new ones. It's not a poor ride just feels tighter, bit like the W211 I had.
The tyres are all good.....Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, the rims are less corroded than the old SL

Batteries and the front grille? My front grille is full of holes caused by stones but only noticeable on inspection.

Gosh, therellt be nothing less but a shell  blimey want get time to do all that swapping, mind you the replacement seems fairly well in regards to its bits n pieces.
That takes me back to the days of my W116 280se, borrowed one to get a few bits off, as suggested by the owner, gave him back a totally different car albeit the same if you get my drift :D

Oh I have batteries coming out my ears

There was only 1 thing I could have swapped over and those are the new brake pads I fitted a month or so back :(
Bit of a faff changing them over again, when these need replacing on the new car, might try bremmo or similar discs and EBC pads?

Brembo discs or MB ( same likely) and EBC Red stuff pads is a good combo on the 500....worked for me and virtually dust free! Only thing as we discussed before is they need a lot of heat in them to perform at their best

Thanks John, would the green or yellow pads heat up quicker?

Green will but not much in it with yellow compared with red really - all a bit marginal Peter in reality, just when cold I had to press the reds more

How long have you had the '55 ? Same colour and wheels as mine. Different interior though.

I've had it nearly 18 months Mark, also covered just under 16,000mles in that time, it gets used as my everyday run about, and on the odd occasion, the dump run
In my 16,000mles its had a new strut and ABC Pump, MAF sensor and tyres.
What colour is your interior?
