Hi
I’m new on here and have a problem I never foresaw. I have a W218 CLS (pride and joy) and my wife recently bought me a nextbase dashcam as I like the peace of mind they offer. Phoned MB Edinburgh regarding fitting it, wired to car. They have told me I have to buy a fitting kit that they don’t supply for £252 and take it to them to carry out the job. I queried it obviously and was amazed when told they haven’t fitted any. I know it’s not a huge job but I wanted it fitted properly. Just wanted some advice really. Thanks
My skin has just started to develop a rashTrying it out in my convertible and seems to work as it should. Still might be a bit tacky for the CLS, everything else is so classy in there.
I should say the convertible is a 2007 focus
What reason did he give for not being able to fit it behind the main rear view mirror , thats where my clk one is fitted (by me , so its not rocket science ) . The law is just that it doesnt obstruct the drivers forward vision .Went to Halfords in Yeovil today to have a dash cam fitted. The fitter seemed to know what he is doing, but the only place he could fit it was either on the passenger side or in a very limited part of the windscreen on the driver's side. The law on dash cam placement is very strict
I decided not to go ahead
Google dash cam fitting

Looking at your image. My car a 2017 CLS Shooting Brake has that very large mystery box that is next to your camera. We asked our local dealership about fitting ours, they said they don't offer a dashcam fitting service
We have a Nexbase one, I will go take a pic right now
