OK to put in perspective
I do have hot and cold outside taps, and I do want to put this microfilter in line (so another 4 connectors just for the filter)
I didnt want to screw the filter onto the inlet on the Karcher as it sticks out 7" ... ideal way of damaging the inlet on the Karcher if you whacked it accidentally .
So that takes 6 connectors.
To do it with Hozelock ones would cost £38. But looking at the existing ones, 1/2 were leaking or had weak or one broken retaining claw on the females, and a few males looked well worn. They are not that old, just crap quality ... and this would have meant some new connectors connecting to some worn old ones etc.
Hozelock's new Pro Metal range hmmmm :-/, the males ones are quite good,
but the females with the all important securing claws, are just the same as the cheapest plastic variety inside! You know where it counts
So I looked at one remaining set of my old CK Brass ones ... a quick clean and they were perfect.
Circa 1990 era!
Of course they are incompatible ... but a decent strong durable spring and 3 retracting ball bearings hold the male in very firmly.

So its either continue with Hozelock ... which imo last about 2 years, or bite the bullet and shell out £80!
Sorry, I suppose I must be instintively tight! LOL but it seems to be an awful lot of cash for a few
10 quality brass connectors and 3 Hozelock females to access the 2 hose reels ( yep not even included them or the attachment on the hand gun or sprinkler in the brass changeover).
So,I,wondered if anyone had come across decent quality brass or stainless steel connectors (preferably Hozelock compatible so I can just add and replace any defective ones ) that are reasonably priced?
