94A2A022-8E2B-4672-ADA9-CE118BD6C21F.jpeg hi,

Felt the car lacked a bit of go, had it serviced. New fuel pump, new maf, gradually got better, had the car terracleaned.... then decided to clean the egr as 450 quid for a new one wasn’t happening..... upon removing it I found it was slightly blocked!

The last owner did 4 miles a day for the last. 2 years.... cleaned it with mr muscle oven cleaner.... the cars performance is somewhat difference!

I’m off out to find a 911 turbo to race!

In the defence of terraclean, it doesn’t do the first stage, it goes in through the fuel lines, I did notice a difference even with the egr blocked! The guy put the camera down before and after so it had done a good job, the intake clean was an extra service, I’m pleased with the results as it stands, but mr muscle got the best results of the week!

Not at all, I paid £110 instead of 130 for the intensive cleaning, the first stage clean would have been £180 which included cleaning from the inter cooler back, and then the terraclean itself, but I figured the egr wouldn’t be that dirty! How wrong was !?!

How ever such a crude half baked bit of engineering bodgery was allowed to be fitted to an otherwise superbly designed car, I will never understand!

Would STAR diags have found that was the issue with poor performance, Steve?

Thanks for that , did it come up at all that it is possible to clean the egr side with any of their processes ?

blame Mr Diesel.
and successive governments that don't care about health of anyone or anything, if these death traps had the same tax per litre as a pack of cancer sticks, the world would be a much better place

No way would I want any engine carbon running through my valves, cams, pistons and cylinders. Already seen damage done by terraclean. No way would i endorse or recommend it. But horses for courses.

Of course, you can measure EGR performance on STAR. It has actual and target values.

So.. the OP could have saved a lot of time and money, if they knew the best route for diagnosis.

Isn’t that always the case.

FDC Fault - diagnosis - cure.
