Hi all
I recently bought my first Mercedes, it's a GLE 350D 2016 plate from a main dealer. They said it went through the approved checklist whatever that means and on the 2nd day of owning it, driving onto a motorway, the car span out. Luckily I didn't hit the barrier or anyone and managed to pull over.
The stench of diesel was everywhere outside the car and the motorway and hard shoulder had quite a lot on it.
The Mercedes recovery team were really good but now the Xmas present for my other isn't going to be fixed until the new year and all I have been told is that the fuel line came loose over the drive shaft and the drive shaft chopped into it.
Does anyone know of this happening on other GLE's or other models. I'm now concerned that a 1 year old car with only 9000 miles on it shouldn't be having that sort of an issue?
Really nervous about sticking with Mercedes, I love the car it's perfect for my other half but I don't want that happening at 80miles an hour whilst over taking or on the school run at 30 where the car spins and mounts a kerb.
Does anyone have any comments or advice that could help.
I'm waiting for the dealer to come back to me but as it's the holidays they say they can't do anything until they understand what has actually happened.
Thanks everyone
Stuart
