Hello

Hope someone might be able to help me, I’m currently trying to find another 18” alloy for my E class after I hit a pot hole and ended up with a flat spot and cracks on the inside rim.:(

The car is a 2007 CDI sport estate, so it’s the double 10 spoke.

I’ve been on eBay without success, just wondered does anyone have any spare or know where I can get one from?

Try Rob Parker at three pointed parts (breakers) . He is regularly on the forum

Just a thought , you could buy a spare set of secondhand alloys from eBay to use till another single one comes up . Then resell the alloys or keep them with winter tyres on .

Thanks for the link to eBay, I found them last night, but to lay out £700 atm is to much for me. Plus it’s collection only from London and I’m in West Midlands with a fubard wheel!
Have ordered a new one, bit of a kick in the **** but that’s pot holes for you! Thankyou Dudley council!

Just thought I would update.
Have received the new alloy from alloy wheels direct.net, came on Thursday just before the snow hit plus had the delivery from Catskills for a new rear tyre.
Just need to get the car to a hunter wheel alignment, after I replaced all shocks and link arms on the front and shocks at the back, I noticed that the rear drivers had severe wear on the inside tread (down to the wire) but the rest of the tread is okish, so will see how bad alignment really is!
All the link arms and bushes look ok (no tears or excessive movement with a leaver)
All credit to camskil for the tyre £61.60 delivered 265x35x18
Will see how it goes next week.

Just wish the rest looked the same!:(
Have used camskills for years for my tyres, Must have got through 3 sets of rain sports on my saab 9-5 whilst I had it, all brought from them. Always a great price!
Will swap to rainsports on my Merc once I’ve worn the others away. :)

Hi guys

Well I’ve only gone and done it again! This time it’s a rear that’s cracked. The story goes that we’ve been on holiday last week, long journey so checked tyre pressures all ok, probably traveled 700 or so miles without a problem come to this morning and the rear passenger is very low (flat), so pump up and go to local tyre garage to get the puncture sorted, guess what, the rim has a flat spot on the inside with a crack running from the rim edge to 2” on the inside of the wheel, not only that it has fubard the tyre as well. O glory be!
Think I might get a lotto ticket.
Just A little bit disappointed, lately I’ve spent quite a bit on the wilderbeast, just replaced the rear subframe mounts last month! And it’s due a service next week.

Take the damaged wheel to Northampton welding. He's a whizz at repairing rims and very reasonable.
Don't be put off by the old school scruffy premises - the work is first rate.

Have already ordered a new wheel and tyre, did think of getting it repaired but the last time I had a wheel welded , it failed after a month, even took it elsewhere to get welded again but failed again after a week this was on a set of double ‘Y’ alloys on a saab 9-5. Both cracked either side of the weld.
thanks for the reply
