Hi all, hoping someone may be able to help.
I have a 2001 E280, which has a strange problem with kick down. When driving normally the pedal and gearbox are fine, nice and smooth, lots of power. However when I hit the kickdown point on the motorway the car seems to go in a funny mood, it's almost as if the throttle is only delivering 50% of the input it was before hand. I can still maintain speed and drive but have to use much more throttle input, and pulling away from a stop is much slower as the car almost creeps forward to start with.
Turning the car off and on again resets everything back to normal and power is restored/car is easy to pull away from a stop. Any ideas?
Many Thanks,
Stephen.
