Hi all - I've been looking at getting both of the above.

There seem to be 2 types of rear boot lip, a stick on more flexible material and plastic. I wondered if people had got either of these and what their views were? Plastic tend to sell for around £55 but the stick on are £25.

Pictures would be ideal of both boot lip and rear roof spoiler as I want to make the rear end look a bit better and this is all I've come up with so far :)

Thanks all!

Ryan

definitely not for performance haha. Literally just styling, only performance based thing worth doing to me is the GAD treatment
:)

The only reason I ask is that the actual performance effect will be a potentially noticeable increase in fuel consumption...

I don't have any data for the 212. The 211 however has a very finely tuned rear end for aero performance. The trunk lid (boot) and rear pillars are the shape that they are because they induce laminar flow and a form of base bleed into the stagnation area just behind the car when at speed. Even a slight spoiling of that adds considerable base drag onto the car.

On my 212, even more effort has gone into improving this condition, there is increased base bleed from the rear diffuser, there are bumper vents (they're not just a styling thing) and even the rear lamps have a form of air duct to help direct air into non-turbulent flow.

The addition of a spoiler right at the point of slipstream to turbulent flow transition might be interesting from the point of view of fuel burn.

Interesting point actually. I hadn't thought of that. Although I've come from an 18mpg focus RS. So anything is better than that lol. Thank you though.. definitely an interesting point

It's ABS and I'm very pleased with it- it came painted already so all I had to do was treat the 'sticking' area and attach using 3M VHB tape.
The spoiler came with VHB tape but I thought it wasn't wide enough so got 19mm wide which worked well.
It's solid
I had the same make on my previous SL in Palladium and again a good match
Search their EBay shop.
It will cost you c£130 though by the time you add customs charges (they're from Taiwan) plus a few quid for the tape and preparation stuff from Amazon
