Wow! I am so impressed with this estate for towing my caravan. Iv'e towed with several different cars over the years but nothing compares to this E350.

Fuel consumption compared to my last tow car - Lexus RX450h - is almost double of that...

Anyone else have the same wow feeling towing their caravan?

“Wow” and “caravan” are rarely in the same sentence for me :p
Just joking, but I could imagine the 350 being an excellent towing engine

I took the new-to-us 'van out on Sunday for a test drive with the E320. No problem at all, 0-60 in around 11-12s keeping things very steady. They really do make superb towing cars. That's pulling a 7.5 x 1500kg German caravan btw.

Yup these V6 diseasel lumps tug well. On my 2nd tug with that lump. All up weight is just over 4 tonnes.

I like to play with the boy racers who think '****** caravan' when they tailgate in a set limit and show them a clean rear as I accelerate away from them on the open road. Had a play on Sunday on the A35/M27 at Cadnam with just such a tiny tooled racer. Narrow country lanes are fun too as I can see well ahead being high up, and they have to pass 40' of outfit accelerating rather quickly, not just a caravan as mine is rather long!!!

The torque is useful when overtaking with the 'van on the back.

Our caravan is so small, that we almost forget it's there behind the E350CDI. All in less than 3500Kg, which means we can do car speeds on French Autoroutes (with ease) :D
