Just read an excellent post re electrical problems re indicators pointing to an N10 relay switch. With my left-hand indicator on permanently I was advised to replace the front SAM which I did. The problem still the same. I then replaced the indicator/wiper switch and the problem is still the same. This leaves me to assume it may be the N10 relay. However, I do not know which relay it is on my front SAM. I have looked at the photograph of a front SAM which points out the N10 but mine appears to be different. I do not have the obvious large N10 as the photo posted has on this forum. Any ideas where the N10 is on a 2003 CLK 200 Kompressor? Then it could also be the clock spring or spiral contact. Is this in the steering column? Please help I love this car but it is beginning to really annoy me!!!!

Taking the car to the garage tomorrow (Thursday). I believe it is one of the relays on top of the front sam. Not sure which one or what colour it is. If someone could indicate which one it is, it would be a great help.

I have a snake feeling yours doesn't have an N10 relay and the signal is handled direct by the front SAM. If I'm right the signal comes from the switch to the EIS to the SAM to the bulbs.

Thank you guys for all the help and suggestions. I will be in contact with Gary Wilson asap. Just to let you know was up with my mechanic and when he disconnected the REAR sam the left-hand indicators went out. Does this mean it is the rear sam. Also, the car seems to be blowing the left-hand tail light bulb quite often. I have changed it about once a week for about three weeks. Is this significant? So, do I replace the rear sam?

When you disconnect the rear SAM do the front indicators work normally?

No. There are no indicators working on the left-hand side of the car.

I would suggest finding the connector where the loom goes into the EIS. Given the information above where no resistance = right indicator, open circuit = no indicators and high resistance=left indicator it suggests a high resistance feed is present on the feed to the EIS which is then being interpreted as a left turn indication.

Thank you all above and especially xfactorfan for putting me in touch with Gary Wilson. It was the steering angle module. Now have a spare front and rear sam if needed. Anyway, thank you all for your help.
