Engine Fan Issue

Hello All,

Firstly, does the engine fan need to go to a certain temperature before it comes on?

My engine fan doesnt seem to come on even when it reaches 80 on the temperature gauge. I only had the fan go about 8 months ago. This can't happen twice in a year, for no reason. I hardly ever drive.

Please advise.

Is your car a 215 please

I think so, my VIN Number starts with WDB215, so does that means it's a 215?

If not, how can I check.

You have 2 fans.

The engine fan is a visco type that cuts in to full speed at 80ºC the electric fans in the rad do not come on until 100ºC


With the visco fan, though they go round all of the time they do not speed up until the 80 c has been reached and you can hear the click when it speeds up
