I have a Mercedes V Class 220i. I have a major problem with it. While I am driving it cuts out, there is no regular pattern to this happening, it does it when it feels like it. When it happens the EDC light comes on the dash, no engine management light comes on. You wait 30 - 60 seconds and it will start up again.

Obviously this is dangerous when you are driving at 70 mph down the motorway. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before and could give me some suggestions on what it could be.

I have been to Mercedes to get them to look at it but nothing comes up on their machines. So even Mercedes have no idea what it could be. I hope someone can help, thank you.

That's very strange that there isn't a recorded error code as it must be recording an error to bring the EDC light on.

I have seen this issue here before, but OP never came back with a resolution, options to test were fuel filter change. Or possible air lock in the tank
