ESP fault

Hello everyone
I have problem with steering angle sensor on my C220 Cdi reg 52 with manual gearbox
So far replaced 2 times SAS and getting same fault codes
C1036 N80 and C1172 N49
When I start the car with streerin wheel in centre on screen come up ESP not available if I steer right even full lock nothing happen but if I steer from centre to left fault it change to ESP visit workshop
Car start and drive fine no problem at all

Been checking all wires connections behind steering
In footwell both sides but can not find anything

Can anyone advice me what else I can do

Hi I have same problem with mine been told it was either sas or lateral sensor changing this Tuesday will let you know if you have not sorted by then

One more thing this month I need to take my car for MOT
Will ESP warning will be failure ?

I think it is a rule from 2013 that all warnings must be off, not 100% on it

Had a look around on the net and it seems the bedding in period has been extended with no new date as of yet.

You might be ok but I'd see the tester and ask before the MOT date.

Esp sorted

Update
After reading a lot about steering angle sensor
in forums and checking my old SAS I figured out
SAS it self has a mark for setting zero point
So I took out again the SAS from my car and checked it
I found clock spring was turned 1 full turn on a left and SAS
2-3 full turns out of the mark that's how I received it from
People who sold it
I made corrections and putted everything back together
Started the car made turning lock to lock 3 times but still
Warning come back I drove the car around 2-3 mins and warning it
gone hopefully never come back
Thank you everyone in forum for all the posts
it really save people a lot of money

Thank you for posting back, so the last ones did not lock the clock spring :( but all good now :D
