Partial success Alex, guess you’re now second guessing yourself as to whether the other one really dropped in...
Well done

Well done

Indeed, I have 8 pintles on my desk, 2 left on the injectors, and 1 recovered from the cylinder.

Happy to have persevered though.

I used to have an Industrial Numatic with 3,250watts triple motor. When I did some house refurbishment and hobby woodworking .. lots of router dust.
A bit like this.
50312217-5DAA-4F97-8E3E-391050AE2265.jpeg

It was technically for saw dust. That one had a much fatter hose.
The key is the size of the tub ... waist height and 480 mm diam.
The size of the tub make the airflow huge ... had a 3” hose as std.

Rent one for a few hours , someone like HSS, and make up the hose with reducers down to a small sized. b&Q clear tube

That mother once jumped at me, and stuck to my arm ( when reduced to 1.5” ) . By the time I had switched it off ... a massive red welt! Lasted about a week!

I reckon that reduced would pick up an O ring... well anything

A bit Like this
https://www.numatic.co.uk/product-view.aspx?id=87&r=22&sr=14
Airflow 144 L/sec
Suction 2400 mm H2O
Genuine figues = 10 big so called 2,000w hoovers.
Forget your Dyson rubbish .... pick up dust, hell you could lever the carpet up with that thing.

So I fitted the cleaned/tested set of injectors and cranked up the car.

To my horror the engine turned over, 2/3 of the way then stopped abruptly.

Cranking on the key heard the starter kick on to a stuck engine. I had visions in my head of a small piece having gone Awol and still being stuck in the cylinder.

Turns out, 2 of the injectors are stuck open and it was fuel hydro lock! Tested by removing all plugs from one bank and cranking, still stuck, put them in and took the other set out and cranked, was met with a shower of petrol.

Must plan an oil change then! Grrr

Very good work on removing the o rings and lucky with the injector leak, hope the old saying that trouble comes in three's is not true.

wishing you very good fortune...

How could injectors be so wrong ? and do you have any comeback?

don't read this as sure you know all the possibilities (but maybe an eye opener for others....) hydraulic lock at any speed can easily cause
twisted block
bend crank
distorted rods
snapped rings
and is usually terminal

Not sure, I'll give Mr injector a call tomorrow. I'm sure that they where probably dribbling and that the cleaning just made them worse. He said they tested all good afterwards

True on your last point, but let's say the starter bent the con rod maybe 2% I would say I would never notice the slight loss of power on that cylinder.

We shall see.

Smart + others :)
A bent rod is a weakened rod and can fail at a later date due to forces not being worked in a straight line
