I have just purchased an Approved M B
Reading through the Manual I followed instructions to check how I accessed Fire Extinguishers. Neither driver or passenger compartments contained Fire Extinguishers.
Should such be included in price of the Approved car? If not surely such should be advised rather than that one should discover in an emergency?
Any thoughts

I would assume that a fire extinguisher would be an optional extra and requirement may depend on a particular country's requirements.. i.i. first aid kits are mandatory and must be in date in some countries, yet here in GB they just get in the way! :)

Hi Roger, welcome to the forum. No fire extinguisher in mine either, I wouldn't have thought it would be a standard item to be honest :(

My understanding is that with Approved cars, & M B lay great stress on a purchase of Approved being somewhat different, then you should get all the standard bits & bobs that you get with the original new car, the difference being wear & tear only. I will be chasing M B on this as haven't yet had their view

I should have mentioned car new has as standard two extinguishers in containers in front of driver & passenger seats. I have the containers. The user Manual contains instructions on opening containers to access the extinguishers

One has an extinguisher in one's MB. One understands that this was an option...and a rare one. Did you have extinguishers in all your previous cars? One only ever had one in one previous car.

One has answered one's own question...the fire extinguisher is not a standard piece of equipment.

Malcolm R230 had an extinguisher but it's the only MB I've seen with one.
Decode the VIN, if it had one the build sheet will show it.
