C220d Amg line 4matic cabriolet 67 plate brilliant blue
Hi Everyone my name is tony and I purchased on the 7 September a new C220d AMG line 4matic cabriolet in brilliant blue. I would be grateful if someone could direct me to the proper site area for having questions placed on care of soft tops and paintwork, half size covers to protect roof, and best tracker for my car. (One of my sons has had his BMW M240i stolen today) so I am concerned about the security of mine.

Retired from the police 16 years ago so a bit out of touch. However then Tracker was very good then, & I never went to a car stolen out of a garage.
Cant help on soft tops never had one.

Hi sonic thanks for the reply unfortunately I only have a drive on which to park the car-hence possible need for soft top cover too, I live in a wet area and moss growth is a potential problem.

Hi John do you have any thoughts on advantages/disadvantages of Ghost over a tracking device.?

Trackers can be effective in recovering your car after its been stolen.
Ghost will help prevent it being stolen in the first place.

Thanks LK so prevention better than cure in my view. Ghost looks like its a great idea I need to research it a bit more i think.

Bin to NZ a couple of times my sister currently lives in Marlborough area. One country I could live in easily.

It will frustrate a potential thief!
Ok they can clone the key it break into your car, but as soon as they try to put it in drive it will stall - they will then think there's something wrong with the car and give up- too much hassle

I spoke with the garage yesterday and they said fitting ghost would invalidate the warranty if done by a third party and Mercedes dont have it as one of their security recommendations. My youngest son had his BMW M240i stolen from Durham last friday night BMW have located it today 200 miles away. Are Mercedes able to do the same thing does anyone know?

It's MB's own warranty scheme, Tier 1 being the top level of cover ( and of course most expensive!)
