fitting a new cig charger

Hi there,

Just bought a MB C Class coupe 230 03 plate love it but i have a MB fitted phone kit for a Nokia 6310i

My Problem is that i have a iphone and didn't really want to spend 250 on a iphone cradle

i have a tomtom iphone kit and wanted to know if i could use the power to the nokia charger to splice in a cig charger then a can power it with out using the one in the centre console

or get a dual output (high current) usb charger.

You should be able to. Another option is to buy one of the cigar lighter splitters, some have 3+ cigar lighters and USB chargers etc now. You can get them in Tesco.

You wouldnt be able to use an iphone cradle anyway. Only option you have with the 6310 fixed cradle is the Viseeo MBU1000. http://www.comandonline.co.uk/ViseeO-MBU1000-Bluetooth-for-Mercedes-Benz.html

Just hardwire the tomtom to the back of the centre console cigarette lighter. You may damage the phone controller trying to take power for the tomtom kit from the 6310 cradle.

i didnt need to use the phone feature,

My plan was to mount the iphone tomtom cradle using http://www.car-mounts.co.uk/brodit-tomtom-iphone-3gs-car-kit-adapter-533091.asp

then as i have a audio 10 (that doesn't have a aux in?) i was going to use a itrip fm transmitter and plug into the audio out

the itrip has a usb out to charge the iphone

Just to clear is it possible to do this? if so has anybody done it who could give me some guidance
