I’ve fuel leaking from the top of the pump. Cleaned it all off this am and started car and diesel seaps out the top. Obviously the whole pump needs to come off to get to the four torx heads. Just an oblong gasket here or more to it ?
This is a C270 2002 . Other option if anyone knows the pump is to eBay search and swap as it’s just 4 bolts to the head ??

I had the same thing on mine a week or two ago. It's the same as yours; C270CDI 2002. Apparently the cold weather shows it up. Loads of posts on here which were very helpful.

I bought a secondhand but recently re-manufactured pump off Ebay for £57 and swapped it. That way I've got as long as I like to change the seals in the other one. There's a sticker on the side of the pump with the Bosch and Mercedes part numbers on it; you need to get the right one, and I found that lots on Ebay were the wrong part. The PF Jones page has a list of all the compatible parts at the bottom so I searched for those numbers one at a time on Ebay:
https://www.pfjones.co.uk/mercedes-...tioned-bosch-common-rail-pump-0445010019.html

It's easy to do - I didn't find it necessary to remove the belt, but it's much easier if you take the vacuum generator off which is only two screws. I had changed the plastic pipes a couple of weeks before - worth doing that too because they go brittle. It'll take ages to start afterwards but it will start eventually. It's been fine since.

I’ve been quoted between 90 and 160 off partfinder for units, I put all the car details into their site. The parts have a 3 month warranty.
I’ll keep the one off the car and put new seals in as a spare or if all good in 6 months offer it up for sale on eBay lol

There is obviously a gasket on the back and the two white seals on the pipes. Anyone know the part numbers for these? Best to put new ones on

There isn't a gasket on the back, it's an o-ring. The one on the 'new' pump was in good condition so I reused it. The actual seal on the pipes is an o-ring too; the white rubbery thing is, I think, there to keep the fittings tight against the clamp and stop them vibrating. The o-rings will be flattened and need replacing.

Don't know the part numbers, sorry, as I bought the whole pipe assemblies. I'm sure you can get just the o-rings and white things from the dealer though, if there's one near to you. Our nearest is over 60 miles away so a bit impractical for an o-ring.

These are the pipe assemblies:
