After having had my fuel gauge remain at "full" I started to investigate the problem.  After having managed to remove the fuel gauge sender unit from the tank I realised that the tank had "imploded"!
Is this a common problem on W124 Saloons?
How can I stop it from happening again and where can I get a really cheap fuel tank from??

Fuel Tanks

Andy,
Thanks for the response, I've tried MercMan in Southampton and a couple of others from Autotrader, as well as factors but I've not been able to find a second hand fuel tank.  My local main dealer is asking around 260+VAT for the tank...
Does anyone know of any other decent breakers?
