1989 W124 Estate, rescused after standing 14 months with a blown engine!
My brother has a problem with his 1989 300GD 460 G-Wagon, he has replaced the front off side brake caliper with a reconditioned one and couldn't get it to bleed , he thought it was a caliper issue so he got it replaced with an other reconditioned one and had the same issue, now it pulls heavily left when he brakes!
Is this a master cylinder problem, i guess with the duel circuit, although when i mentioned this he thinks the rear is OK, or is there a trick in bleeding a G-Wagon front brakes???
Any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

Not enough information yet.....

What was the original problem which moved your brother to replace the calliper?

It will pull to the left if the right hand front brake isn't working and it won't work unless it's properly bled.

Regards,
Nick.

Thanks Nick,

I don't know why, i will ask him, I understand that it will pull with the issue he has, i was wondering if there is anything about a G Wagons brakes that needed a particular way of bleeding them? Or if the master cylinders in these are suspect? I'll post when he tells me what the original issue was....

the 460 series g-wagens don't have abs. The gwoa forum is still down at the present but should be back relatively soon. If I recall correctly there is a knack to bleeding the brakes in that they need to be done from one side, if you pm me I will pass on the e-mail of an expert who should be able to give you the correct advice to resolve this.
