I was returning home earlier on the motorway and forced a down change with a left nudge on the lever to get ready for a move into a line of traffic with a gap. After joining the other lane a nudged to the right to return to D mode and noticed the MIL was shining, something I hoped never to see again after my DPF and EGR problems a few months back. The car continued to drive normally, no lack of power, no strange gear change feel.
Stopping and restarting the car did not clear the light. My OBD reader could detect an error but not give me a number to look up. I have cleared the code and the MIL is now off, but from this rather vague description can anyone suggest what may have caused this unknown code?
I was already planning to change the transmission fluid in the fairly near future, this may bring my plans forward; car is approaching 90k miles now and there is no record of the fluid being changed previously (I know some say you should change it and others say not).

I put it on on my 230 in race through Holland and on a wash board road, it never ever came back, these things can happen through no reason and never return.
