Grinding noise from front

Hi I'm will and just joined,I have a CLC 220 CDI sport with 72k in the clock for the last week I have had a problem as if I had a flat spot on my tyre today it has progressed to a grinding noise from somewhere at the front would this point to a wheel bearing any advice on how to locate the noise and solutions would be most appreciated thanks all

First thing to check is brake pads. Jack up the front and remove the wheel. Visually check the amount of friction material on the backing plates, especially the pads nearest the vehicle center line.

Thanks for your reply I won't get chance until the weekend I do have a set of front pads and discs I got when they was on offer if needed
