gummi pflege or krytox?

Been advised to get gummi pflege for my clk, but whilst I was looking, I found that people use Krytox, what do you guys think please? Thanks

Not much difference really Sarah IMO, I used gummi pfledge but heated it a bit before using as it's maybe a little higher viscosity

My own preference would be Krytox having used it for about three years on my Eos. The reason for Krytox on the Eos ? recommended by VW. I did find it effective though, softened the seals nicely to give a nice waterproof seal.

I use gummi because it's a fair bit cheaper . I also occasionally use silicone grease on the top seal .

Krytox for me - it really softens the rubber & a bottle will last for years

Investigated this a while ago for the 968 cab, Krytox recommended by VW but horribly expensive, Gummi recommended by many places and a hell of a lot cheaper - so 1 guess what I use! Do the seals on the 968 cab and the C220 2-4 times a year and all is fine.

gummi pflege arrived today, done the doors and the rubbers at the top of the windscreen, just got to do the rest of the roof. Can I stop the roof in mid operation without breaking it?

I don't know about a CLK but I certainly did with my VW Eos with no harm at all to the mechanism, hydraulics or electrics

Yes you can Missy D . After a few minutes you get an audible noise that tells you it will start moving again , I just activate the roof moving button again briefly and it does another few minutes

Now you've discovered the difference that treatment makes, you now need to get in the habit of applying gummi every 3-6 months (3 months if the car lives outdoors), so that spare stick will eventually be needed! I not only do the roof, door, bonnet and boot seals on my cab, I also do the door and boot seals on the S204!
