CLK 230 KOMPRESSOR AUTO 2001
Hi, i have a clk 2001 230 komressor, auto. I had a flat tyre, changed with the spare, the car now does not move and the handbrake light keeps coming on (It was moving fine with the flat tyre). I then changed it back to the flat tyre but it still does not move / handbrake light is on.

I assume a sensor has come on as it probably didn't like the spare / same lugs used but not sure if this is the issue.

Also, how do I reset the handbrake light so that I can drive off as I have put the old tyre back and just want it to move now.

Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

If your car has alloy wheels and the spare is a steel wheel then there are different length wheel bolts that have to be used otherwise the longer alloy wheel bolts catch on the footbrake mechanism.
This may be why your car would not move .

As above. You have used the standard wheel bolts instead of the shorter ones to be used with the spare wheel. Unfortunately you will have damaged the handbrake mechanism inside the drum of the disc. You will need to remove the disc, inspect and replace anything damaged. The damaged parts will be locking the wheel.
