I fitted the hadtop on my 1996 SL320 recently and it locked in position without any problems.
However, after fitting there was a rattle coming from the rear and in an effort to eradicate the rattle I decided to unlock the hardtop and then lock it back into position again.
The hardtop unlocked OK but would not return to the fixed position.
I removed the hardtop and the hood works fine but I can not get the hardtop to engage in the fixed position.
Any advice on a method of overcoming this problem would be appreciated.
