Heated rear window interferance

Hi all i have a problem with the heated rear window interfering with the radio does any one have a fix ? THANKS..

The problem is that some of the wires in the rear screen are on the point of wearing through to the point where the wires just arc, and this causes the interference. Some cars have a 15,000 mfd cap wired across the rear screen terminals as close as possible to the screen connections.

MBs cure is to run an 18v dc supply through the rear window for 1 hour, in a hope that the increased voltage could weld the fractured wires

The cap is just a standard electrolytic cap with a 15 volt DC or higher rating, some cars have them fitted, if this does not work then throw a brick through the rear window and get a new one

Huw,
Did you fix the problem? I have exactly the same issue when I switch on the Heated rear window, and the Radio is on, cant hear the radio at all.
I will give it a go if it fixed your problem

Sorry to resurrect this post but I have same issue too - rear heated screen on =loud hissing on radio -

annoying and would like to fix if a known common issue
