heater plugs

I have 1994 E300 diesel, and the garage has had three goes to remove them, they are merc only repairs .I wonder if any one has had the same problem ,and how they removed them without takeing the head off.dave winsor-greenpirs@blueyonder.co.uk

Probably well rusted in after 12 years of heating and cooling. I would run the engine up to the highest temp I can even if it means disconnecting the fan temporarily and have a go straight away. Then if that fails, copius amounts of WD40 stuff around the threads over a couple of days and heater her up again. Failing that drill 'em out!
