Hello and a Merc Electrical problem

Hi there.
Im a long term merc user thats never really had an issue with his car, a Merc C270 CDI Avantgarde with sports pack, 2003 (53) . Never posted on this forum or even visted much so I apologise in advance for jumping on asking for stuff!

I have a major electrical issue as the car has shut down , battery's flat and the alarm is continually going off with flashing indicators in the dash... the key lock wont turn and its totally drain down dead. This happened af few months ago but a jumpstart was all it needed and it worked fine...

I need a recommendation ( not a Merc garage ) of a specialist electrical repair place somewhere in and around London if anyone can recommend one?? A place that really knows what its doing. My usual garage had a look and don't have a clue... they are more mechanical and bodywork bias...

I really don't want to take it to a merc dealer...

Start simple have battery checked.

WG MB in Harrow Weald have excellent recommendation on this forum, many members use them if you can get there. Independents don't charge an arm and a leg, their hourly rates are something like 1/3 that of main dealer.

Can you open the tailgate using the emergency key?

Sounds like the battery has failed and alarm has gone open circuit. Invest in a new battery if yours is over ten years old, £100 tops.

I do think he will come back, or will not bother to come on again . I would say he as a bad battery .
