Hi Guys

I hope someone can shed some light onto this problem

Car w215 cl600 2003

Start car , idles between 1400rpm and 1100rpm then engine stutters like it’s misfiring

Code reader used Icarsoft MBII

P2042 fuel cut off
P202e (p0120) throttle valve
C1041 N47-5 ESP SPS BAS control unit faulty
P104102 not in data base

So I thought it was the throttle pedal , then brake switch, then N47-5 unit then throttle body oh and a new battery

Corrosion found in engine Ecu plugs and pins and inside. Corrosion was cleaned up , Ecu sent away for testing, unable to test . I’ve tried other places and it looks like no uk company can test an m275 Ecu

Corrosion found in right hand Sam unit so that was replaced, lots of fuses replaced

Corrosion found on main junction under carpet drivers side , cleaned up

Problem is still present.........

P202e can be ESP related. Check all the pins on the connectors to the ESP module (especially the CAN connections). Given the levels of corrosion you've already found also check all earth points and clean them if you haven't already. If the earth from body to engine is a braided style one replace it with an insulated one - they can do weird things if they get corrosion (well known issue on Smarts).

Yeah thats not good and will definitely cause issues. Did you also clean the plug side of the connectors with contact cleaner (or preferably switch cleaner - it doesn't dry and is non conductive)?

Welcome Stuart!
Regarding the ECU, this guy has just joined the forum and claims to be somewhat of a genius, so might be worth a try?

I too had corrosion issues in the fuse box area of my SL, then replacement of a front passenger SAM unit...

I think you’re code reader isn’t helping. Those descriptions do not correlate on star. I would get it on star at an independent and start from scratch..

The only problems we get on these V12s for running and cutting out is the coil pack ECUs.

It sounds like a fuel supply problem to me. Do you have facilities to check the pressure at the fuel rail? I've just replaced a pump and filter on a Sl55 for similar sounding fault

Uncle Benz I shall have a look at fuel supply , no I don’t have any gauges to check rail pressure

Given you have MB-II can you see the fuel pressure on the live data?
